ABOUT ME

Matilda Woodroofe is a Set and Costume Designer with a diverse body of work and range of experience spanning across theatre, dance, TV, film and events.

A Production Design graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, her theatre experience has seen her work with companies including Belvoir St Theatre, Malthouse Theatre, Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company and Bangarra Dance Theatre. 

Matilda has worked as a Set and Costume Design Associate for designers Marg Horwell, Jacob Nash, The Sisters Hayes and Mel Page.

In 2021, Matilda was part of the Set Design team who created the immersive event Because the Night at Malthouse Theatre which featured over 30 different fully realised room designs.

In 2022 Matilda made her main stage design debut as Set and Costume Designer on the Malthouse Theatre and Darlinghurst Theatre Company production, Stay Woke. She was also Set and Costume Designer on the 2023 Malthouse Theatre production, This is Living, directed by Malthouse Artistic Director Matthew Lutton and written by Ash Flanders.

In 2024 Matilda is making her Melbourne Theatre Company debut as Set and Costume Designer on Cost of Living, directed by Anthea Williams.
